3-on-3 Rules

  • Location: Ranch Sports Facility – 16067 Euclid Ave, Chino, CA 91708

  • Cost: $TBD per player – paid via Venmo @pblca or Zelle (951) 310-6547 by your captain
  • Uniforms: Bring a black (or dark) and white jersey. Reversible jerseys will be available for sale ($25)

Rules

Game Format

  • Court: Half court
  • Players: 3 on the court, up to 2 subs per team
  • Game Time: Each player is required to play at least 2 minutes per game
  • Game Duration:
    • 15 minutes running clock or first to 21 points, whichever comes first
  • Overtime: First team to score 2 points wins
  • Shot Clock: 14 seconds

Scoring

  • 2 points: Made basket inside the arc
  • 3 points: Made basket beyond the arc
  • 4 points: Made basket from designated 4-point zones (e.g. marked circles ~30 ft from the hoop)

Possession Rules

  • Ball is checked to the opposing team at the top of the arc after:
    • Made baskets
    • Dead balls
    • Fouls or violations
  • Clearing rule: After a rebound or steal, ball must be cleared beyond the arc before scoring

Fouls

  • Shooting fouls:
    • Fouled on 2-point attempt → 1 free throw worth 2 points
    • Fouled on 3-point attempt → 1 free throw worth 3 points
    • Fouled on 4-point attempt → 1 free throw worth 4 points
  • Team Fouls:
    • After 6 team fouls, every defensive foul results in:
      • 1 free throw equal to shot value
      • + possession for the offensive team
  • Player fouls:
    • 5 personal fouls = disqualification
  • Technical/Unsportsmanlike: 1 point + possession

Substitutions & Timeout

  • Substitutions allowed during dead balls or timeouts only
  • Timeouts: 1 per team (30 seconds)
